Debbie Fleming Live at Drom Taberna!

Date: Jun 9, 2024
Time: 02:00 pm
Venue: Drom Taberna, 458 Queen Street West, Toronto, ON M5V 2A8

Multiple award winner and former Juno Nominee, Debbie Fleming, is set to make her highly anticipated debut at Drom Taberna! With a storied career as one of Toronto’s most in-demand session singers, Debbie has lent her remarkable voice to a myriad of commercial jingles and has provided backup vocals for legendary artists such as Anne Murray, David Clayton Thomas, Engelbert Humperdinck, Alan Jackson, and Petula Clark, with whom she toured in the 80s.

Debbie’s extensive television credits from the 80s include The Ronnie Prophet Show, Tommy Hunter, Stars on Ice, Circus, The Junos, and Sesame Street.

Not only a stellar vocalist, Debbie is also a talented record producer, songwriter, guitarist, and ukulele player. Her vocal and instrumental arrangements have been performed by choirs worldwide, and she has arranged songs for Toronto trio The Ault Sisters, as well as her own acappella quartet, Hampton Avenue, who performed at the 2018 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. In recognition of her contributions to vocal arts in Canada, she was awarded the Slaight Legacy Award by the SING Vocal Arts Festival in 2019.

Her latest project, “Back to Bacharach: Full Circle,” released in 2016, is a tribute to the timeless songs of Burt Bacharach and Hal David. This CD, featuring classics like “Alfie,” “Close to You,” and “What the World Needs Now,” has received widespread acclaim and radio play across Canada.

Debbie’s live shows are a delightful blend of her extensive repertoire and personal stories from her musical journey that began in the 60s and continues to this day. Accompanying herself on guitar, ukulele, and piano, she captivates audiences with her renditions of beloved songs like “Downtown,” “What’d I Say,” and “In the Still of the Night,” inviting sing-alongs that evoke the nostalgic charm of the transistor radio era.

For her performance at Drom Taberna, Debbie will be joined by a talented ensemble featuring Dylan Bell on keys, Phil DiSera on guitar, Jordan O’Connor on bass, and David Johannesson on drums.

Don’t miss this extraordinary evening of music and memories with Debbie Fleming!
